Make Something Monday - String Art DIY

Sometimes you just need to make something! This craft is fairly quick with only a few needed items to complete it.

Items Required:
Piece of wood (you can purchase at any craft store - we mainly used 5x5 blocks)
Paint (if you wanted to paint your wood)
Floss
Hammer
Finish Nails
Shape or Letter (I printed off shapes and letters to use)

Instructions:
First, paint your board your color of choice.

Then, decide what shape, pattern or letter you'd like. We had a lot of initials and Wisconsin shapes!

Use the printed shape you've chosen and start hammering the finish nails around the edge of the shape. There is no magic spacing, but I typically space them out about a pinkie width or 1/4 inch.

Remove the paper from your board and select your floss color.

Tie a double or triple knot the floss on one of the nails, leave a tail and start stringing! There is no right or wrong way, just string. If you need to push down the floss so that you can string more, go ahead!

String, string, string. String until you're happy with the product. Tie off the end with another double or triple knot, leaving a tail. Then clip the tails off with a pair of sharp scissors.

 Finished Product!

A fun piece of art to display in less than an hour!
